KAMPALA – Uganda’s legendary Afrigo Band is set to make history this Saturday, August 16, as they celebrate 50 years of musical excellence with a spectacular Golden Jubilee concert at the Millennium Grounds, Lugogo. The milestone event will bring together thousands of music lovers for what promises to be one of the most memorable nights in Uganda’s entertainment history.
Addressing journalists at a press conference held last evening at Sheraton Hotel Kampala, Afrigo Band members expressed deep gratitude to their fans for the unwavering support over the decades. They assured revellers that Saturday’s show will be nothing short of electrifying, with carefully curated performances covering their timeless hits and fan favourites.
The celebrations will be elevated by the presence of legendary Congolese musician and Lingala superstar Koffi Olomide, who will be performing live alongside the band. Known for his powerful stage presence and signature dance moves, Koffi promised Ugandan fans an “unforgettable, top-notch experience” and urged them to come ready to dance the night away.
“This is more than just a concert; it’s a celebration of culture, music, and the journey Afrigo Band has taken with its fans for five decades,” said the band’s management. “We have prepared something very special and we don’t want anyone to miss it.”
Tickets are priced at 60,000 UGX (Silver), 125,000 UGX (Gold), 250,000 UGX (VIP), and 3,000,000 UGX (VIP Table of 8). Organizers have warned that tickets are selling fast, with many categories already approaching sell-out status.
