The Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), Hajat Sharifah Buzeki, has announced stricter enforcement of noise pollution regulations under the Environmental Management and Noise Control Act.
Speaking on the new directive, Buzeki revealed that KCCA will intensify monitoring and enforcement operations in collaboration with the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) to ensure compliance with approved noise standards across Kampala.

According to the regulations, noise levels in busy commercial areas must not exceed 75 decibels during daytime and 50 decibels at night.
Businesses and entertainment venues currently operating beyond the permitted limits have been urged to take immediate corrective measures before enforcement operations begin.
