Stand-up comedian Maulana Kasozi, one half of the celebrated comedy duo Maulana and Reign, has opened up about what he considers one of the best decisions he made at the peak of his breakthrough into Uganda’s entertainment spotlight.
According to Maulana, choosing to get married early in his career was a deliberate and life-changing move, one he says he has never regretted.

The comedian revealed that as he began to foresee fame coming his way, he understood the temptations that often accompany celebrity life.
Anticipating the challenges that popularity could bring, he decided to settle down in marriage as a way of maintaining discipline and focus.
He explained that marriage helped him avoid promiscuity and the reckless lifestyle that can come with constant public attention and interactions with admirers, especially women attracted to celebrities.
“I got married because I understood the life I had entered involved meeting many people and women getting attracted to us. To avoid promiscuity, I chose marriage. Having a partner helps you avoid reckless spending, stay committed to providing, and avoid moving from one relationship to another because I saw it coming.”
Despite experiencing a few relationship challenges along the way, Maulana says those moments shaped his maturity and changed how he understands and handles relationships.
He also admitted that he initially lacked experience in relationship matters, revealing that he only began exploring romantic relationships after completing his university education — a journey he says has since contributed greatly to his personal growth and stability.
