Singer and record label boss Ykee Benda has revealed that he has no plans of ever working with former Mpaka Records artist Dre Cali again following their fallout.
Speaking during an interview on the NOW Media Ug podcast, Ykee Benda said it would be “impossible” for Dre Cali to return and collaborate with him again after the manner in which he exited the label.

Dre Cali reportedly left Uganda for Canada in search of greener pastures while still under contract with Mpaka Records, a move that Ykee says left him angry and devastated.
Despite the disappointment, Ykee explained that he already forgave Dre Cali long ago, even before an apology was made.
I can forgive him because I forgave him even before he ever thought about asking for forgiveness but what differentiates a real man from an unserious one is how you handle things.
He added that professionalism and respect are important whenever artists part ways with management teams or labels.
If I start to work with you, it’s important to leave how you came.
To explain his point, Ykee reflected on his own departure from Badi Music, the label that helped launch his music career.
According to him, after recording his breakout song “Finger,” he was approached by Badi for a partnership, something he carefully thought through before agreeing.
I asked for two days to think about it and I came back and in January 2016, I entered his rental house and signed with him.
He further explained that when the time came for him to leave in 2017, he handled the situation respectfully by sitting down with Badi, discussing his future plans, and formally asking to be released from the label.
“We agreed on some things and I left,” he said.
Ykee noted that he expected Dre Cali to follow a similar path instead of leaving abruptly without communication.
