Hon. Balaam Barugahara Atenyi has announced that the long-awaited DNA findings concerning the late Paul Job Kafeero will be officially released next Thursday, bringing what he hopes will be an end to the singer’s 19-year family estate dispute.
In a statement shared on his social media platforms, Balaam revealed that the findings will be read publicly at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, 25 June 2026, during an event at the Police Headquarters.

The proceedings will be broadcast live on television so the public can follow the outcome.
According to Balaam, the event will be attended by the Police Forensic Laboratory team, the Government Analytical Laboratory team, and the Directorate of Government Analytical Laboratory (DGAL).
The DNA findings are expected to address questions about more than 25 young people who claim biological ties to the late Kadongo Kamu legend, Paul Kafeero.
Members of the press, the children involved, their mothers, uncles, clan leaders, relatives, and a few close friends of the late singer will attend the official reading, while the rest of the public has been encouraged to follow the proceedings live on television.
Balaam also commended the forensic experts from both the Uganda Police Force and the Government Analytical Laboratory for their professionalism and dedication in handling the sensitive matter.
I extend my sincere appreciation to Director Andrew K. Mubiru and his team of Police Forensic Experts, as well as Mr. Kepher Kuchana Kateu and the Government Analytical Laboratory team, for their dedication, professionalism, and tireless efforts in bringing closure to this 19-year family dispute. May God bless you all.
The DNA results are expected to play a pivotal role in settling the long-running dispute over the late Paul Kafeero’s estate, which has remained unresolved since his passing nearly two decades ago.
